Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

A PUNISHMENT MORE THAN A SIN

Because that, when they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God,neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Therefore, God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves, who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forevermore. Amen. For this cause, God gave them up unto vile affections. For even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. Likewise, also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was fitting. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.”
Paul, In Romans 1:21-28

When a person begins to act as a homosexual, he has been cursed by God. According to Moses (Lev. 18:22), homosexuality is an abomination to our Creator. But here in Romans, Paul sheds even greater light on the matter. According to him, it isn’t so much that homosexuality is a sin as it is God’s response to sin. Paul teaches us here that homosexuality is a divine punishment for unfaithfulness to the truth, for ingratitude, for pride, and for turning away from the right way to worship God.

This gives us a deeper and purer appreciation of what is happening in our culture at the present. The reason for this sudden and enormous rise of moral perverseness in America is not that men and women are just deciding to be that way. People are not so much in control of themselves that they can choose this new low level of moral squalor. This depth of depravity is God’s curse on a people who have not been grateful for His goodness to them, a people who have become proud and “vain in their imaginations”, who have heard the gospel of Christ and do not like it, and who refuse to humble themselves to worship in the manner that God demands.

What we are watching is the execution of the curse of God about which Solomon warned his son: “He that being often reproved, hardens his neck, shall be suddenly destroyed, and that without remedy.

How many times have you been admonished about something by the Lord or one of his servants? Please listen to Him and turn from that error. Do not force His hand. It would be a real tragedy for you, too, to begin to be turned over to that demon of homosexuality and suddenly, with millions of others in this country, “see the light” on the goodness of sin.
