Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

A Letter From A Self-Appointed Apostle: Response 3

Hi John.

I think it is so wonderful how the stories you have written about God’s work in your father’s life have prepared us to see things clearly. As a result, a lot of things we run into now are just “repeats”. We can see and understand what we are facing because you’ve “worked the road” for us.

What brother I-- is saying is the same thing Brother Bunn once tried to persuade YOU to believe.... it’s just dressed in slightly different clothes. What I see I-- REALLY saying is that anyone who has the holy Ghost already has been “glorified”, or as many Christians would say it, “already saved”. It amounts to that. Brother I–’s doctrine can appeal to nobody except those who have the holy Ghost and yet still have enough pride to connect with a proud man who tells them they cannot fall. We know better than that, thanks to the good teaching we have had.

I can sense that Brother I-- has never had an experience of deep, dark failure that has brought him helplessly to his knees - one in which he finds that he is actually working against the very anointing and truth of God he thinks to stand for. I have, and I am so thankful God had me in your hands John, and around others who could help me. When our brother I-- finds out where he is, and when he repents, I want to be there to encourage him. He’s going to need it. And I hope he does so sooner and not later, so he can be of value to God’s children while he is young.

Thanks for the comments on that e-mail. I was encouraged by it, because of all that God has done for us.

Gary

Dear Brother Gary,

Thanks. That was very perceptive. The young apostle’s doctrine is exactly what Brother Bunn was trying to teach me and what all are teaching who say that once a person is converted, he cannot fail to receive salvation in the end.
