Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

Eating Good Food

Hello Pastor John!

I had the most wonderful thoughts during the night. I awoke around 2 a.m. I started having so many good thoughts go through my head and soul. It was as if someone was preaching . . . it just went on and on. It started with an image I saw of a young man. On the outside he looked perfectly normal. But I could see him 3-D. I could see what he looked like on the outside, the shell of his body, and I could see what was inside of him. He was empty on the inside. As I saw this image, I could hear constant thoughts and understanding about this young man. I understood how much nourishment is needed for the physical body. Proper nourishment is essential for normal growth, for muscles, just to have a normal functioning body. That understanding of the physical led into what I was understanding about us spiritually. The preaching I was hearing was to this effect: If we are not eating - spiritually - how in the world can we expect to have anything on our insides? If our children - if any of us - do not spend time alone in prayer with Jesus, if we take no thought or time to read the Scriptures - we will not have anything on our insides. We will be empty.

I was also reminded last night of a young person who used to come to our meetings, received the holy Ghost, but shortly after that her love of God died away. Before she was completely gone from us, I remember looking at her during a meeting and a stunning revelation hit me. She was spiritually anorexic. She would not let herself taste of the good food of the spirit of God. She would not eat. It was so sad to watch her meeting after meeting starving to death, but she would not open her mouth or heart and take in one bite of food that was so plentiful!

I was telling my boys this morning about this preaching I was hearing during the night, and the image of the young man that was empty on his insides. The only thing I could say to them afterwards was, “You will be empty if you don’t eat.” I felt this for my children and all the young people. Take the time to cherish what God has given you. It is no small thing! God help us to eat of the good food He has given us.
